International Youth Day 2022

This was our first project as The Makazi Foundation and we were SOOOO excited! The objective of last year's International Youth Day theme was 'Intergenerational solidarity: Creating a World for All Ages'. The aim was to amplify the message that action is needed across all generations to achieve the SDGs and leave no one behind.

About the project

Starting point

Our Youth Day project was an Entrepreneurship Seminar at Blantyre Secondary School where we covered the UN's Sustainable Development Goals 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth) and SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities). The aim was to give an opportunity for different generations the opportunity to inspire each other.

Support from local communities

We were joined by 285 Form 3 and 4 students who listened intently as our speakers shared their experiences. We pray the words their heard will inspire them to aim higher than they ever thought possible.
