International Youth Day 2022

Our very first project as The Makazi Foundation marked an exciting beginning. We launched our work by embracing the global theme of International Youth Day 2022: “Intergenerational Solidarity: Creating a World for All Ages.” This initiative underscored the importance of uniting all generations to accelerate progress toward the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and ensure no one is left behind.

To celebrate this milestone, we hosted an Entrepreneurship Workshop at Blantyre Secondary School:

• SDG 8 – Decent Work and Economic Growth

• SDG 10 – Reduced Inequalities

Our goal was to create a platform for meaningful exchange between generations, where knowledge, experience, and aspirations could be shared to inspire lifelong impact.

Support from local communities

We were honored to engage 285 Form 3 and 4 students who participated with great enthusiasm. Through heartfelt talks from our speakers, we encouraged students to dream bigger, build resilience, and recognize their role in shaping a better future.

We believe that the conversations sparked during this seminar planted seeds of ambition, innovation, and unity across generations—exactly the kind of change we aim to cultivate through our work at Makazi.
